New at the Charlie McCoy Town Park in Fayetteville we are currently working on a dog park, which will feature a large and a small dog section. We are currently waiting for a few parts and then we will be open for business. Stay tuned for information on the Grand Bark Opening! Currently, you may want to let your dog run in the TEMPORARY Dog Park located on one side of the old Elementary School 200 W. Wiseman Ave. There is also a dog park in Oak Hill 235 Central Ave.
Many have asked about the FHS trophies. The Fayette County Board of Education has allowed the Town to provide a home for these treasures. Our FHS Alumni are hard at work cataloging trophies and restoring them to showcase the history of the mighty Pirates. These are housed in what many of us still refer to as the “New Building”, though now it has been repurposed into our new Police Department.
Speaking of the “New Building” or the upper brick building, our Police Department has moved into their new location on 135 High St. As soon as the dust settles look for an open house to highlight our department and the Matt Edwards Courtroom.
Fayetteville Town Hall -125 N. Court St. is also getting a face lift. The front of the building has been cleaned painted and lettering has been ordered to complete the front. Look for the roof to be replaced this spring and then repair work along with the painting will occur on the back of the building.
