Town Council is made up of five councilors, one recorder and the Mayor. The Town Council operates under the Codified Ordinances for the Town and the WV State Code and may adopt rules, resolutions and ordinances under the direction of the Mayor. The recorder shall keep a bound book of meeting records. Elections are held every four years for all positions on Town Council. The next election, without regard to any party affiliation, will be held with the General Election on Tuesday, November 7, 2028. (This change was made to align with WV State Election Regulations.
The Town Council meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month at Fayetteville Town Hall, located at 125 N. Court St, at 6:00PM. These meetings are always open to the public. Agendas are posted in advance on the community board at Town Hall, as well as on the town’s website and Facebook page. In addition to in-person, you may also conveniently join via ZOOM.
